Thanks for thinking I'm interesting enough to check up on. If you've come this far, I dare you to say hello before you leave.

My research group has a Web site too; see http://pact.uiuc.edu/.
This year (2009-10) I am a Fellow at the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University and a visiting research scholar in the Technological Innovation Group at MIT Sloan. I am also an Associate Professor in Communication (College of Liberal Arts and Sciences), at the Coordinated Science Laboratory (College of Engineering), and at the Institute of Communications Research (College of Media) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I am also affiliated with Science and Technology Studies, Engineering and Technology Studies, Informatics, and The Illinois Center for Wireless Systems. My research investigates communication and information technology infrastructure and public policy -- especially the way that legal, social, and technical elements work together (or don't work together) to shape systems of communication like the Internet. Usually, I read. Sometimes, I write. Often, I drink coffee. I might be found in a cafe drinking coffee and reading, or at home drinking coffee and writing. Or just drinking coffee.
In Summer 2008 I was a Visiting Associate Professor in People and Practices Research Lab at Intel Research, Portland. In Summer 2009 I was a Visiting Scholar at McGill in Montreal.
